Sometimes it may not be possible to use Time Clock MTS to move the database file to a different location. If this is the case you may need to move it manually. Here's how to do it.
1. Using Windows Explorer copy the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Time Clock MTS\database\timeclock.mdb to the shared directory on your network where you want to store the database.
2. Using Windows notepad open the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Time Clock MTS\timeclock.ini (c:\ProgramData\TimeClockMTS\timeclock.ini for Windows Vista)
3. In Windows notepad look for the setting
| Code: |
DatabaseLoc=C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Time Clock MTS\Database\timeclock.mdb
|
Change the path after the equals sign to the new path of the timeclock.mdb file. This may result in something like:
| Code: |
DatabaseLoc=x:\timeclockdata\timeclock.mdb
|
Note that your path will most likely be different to this one.
4. Save the timeclock.ini file
5. Run the software and you should now be connected to the moved database. _________________ Mark Nemtsas
