Hi, I'm very impressed with your software, pricing(!), and support forum.
We've been looking at this fingerprint time clock (link removed) but it is overpriced for us. The most expensive thing about these units is their software, which makes Time Clock MTS very very attractive.
The question is, what are the chances of importing a report from this time clock to the software? This particular one is designed to stand alone, and you just download the times file onto a usb flash disk. Is it as simple as a spreadsheet type table with user/time in/time out?
The unit spec says it has 3 formats of attendance report
• Electronic Time Card
• Daily Attendance Listing
• Staff Movement Analysis
But i'm not sure if this is the output format, or what their software does with it.
Do you have any users combining your software with a time clock? It doesn't have to be this one, I just thought this one had a good chance with the DIY file download system... |

Hi,
I'd need to find out what formats the reports are in to determine if and how they could be imported. I am in Australia too so if you'd like to give me a call on 0488 135 305 we could discuss this further.

Wow thanks Mark I didn't realise you were in Oz, your site definitely has an international flavor.
Spewing to hear you haven't already setup a combination like I was hoping... we were hoping for an easy option. It's probably not worth it for you if no one else is asking, don't waste your time.
Especially when you hear what we were thinking of doing... it may complicate things anyway. We want to push the boundaries a bit and use a unit like this for job costing. Each time we swap between clients (many times throughout a day) we are looking for a quick and automated way to clock that. (To use the info for billing, but also helps with employee skill training/profitibility calcs) It's gotta be no brainer clocking though because sometimes its when you answer a phone and have a half hour consult with a client while you had been working on another and you need to clock on/off between those clients. It also needs to be something our employees will use easily without having to care too much (which is why manually noting start/stop times didn't work).
I've asked for a sample of the actual file the unit outputs, will see what they say. |
