Customizing Timesheets MTS - Display Preferences

Use the Display Preferences screen to set various local settings to enhance your local Timesheets MTS installation. Super Users can also use different settings that will affect all users of Timesheets MTS using the same database. For a detailed explanation of each setting please see below.

Display Tips at Startup Local Controls whether the tips screen is shown when the program is run>
Display Messaging at Login Local Controls whether the internal messaging screen is shown when a user logs into Timesheets MTS
Require Confirmation of Timer Stop Local When set a confirmation dialog is shown when stopping the timer
Tell me when new messages arrive Local When set a window will pop up to tell you when a new internal message has arrived
Use Non Billable Time Fields Local When set the non billable fields on the time entry and timesheet screens will be shown
Enable Auto Login Local If set the software will automatically log into the account you are currently logged into. Should be used with caution on super user accounts.
Disable Enter Key on Entry Forms Local When set the 'Enter' key does not press the OK button on various screens. Useful if you want to enter multi line descriptions into the time entry screen or many other screens.
Remember Last Logged In User Local When set the last user who logged into Timesheets MTS will be automatically selected in the login list.
Autofollow Punch Clock Entries Local When set a new time entry will automatically have the start time set to the end time of the previous time entry. Only applies when the punch clock interface is enabled and if there is already a time entry for the day.
First Day of the Week Global Click to set the first day of the week. Used for display purposes on the timesheet and for various reports.
Decimal Hours Global Select this to have users enter time in decimal hours (eg 1.5 hours equals 1 hour and 30 minutes)
Hours and Minutes Global Select this to have users enter time in hours and minutes
Units Global Select this to have users enter time in configurable time units. The amount of time each time unit represents is set using the Unit Size text box.
Unit Size Global This sets the time in minutes that a time unit represents. For example, if you set this to 6 then each time unit will represent 6 minutes.
Only Super User Sets Database Location Global This setting will disable the 'Set Database Location' options on the System Preferences option screen unless the user is a super user.
Only Super User Can Backup Database Global This setting will disable the Backup Database button on the System Preferences option screen unless the user is a super user.
Only Super User Can Update Software Global This setting will disable the Check for Updates menu item on the Tools menu unless the user is a super user.
Project Managers 'Own' Projects Global When enabled this setting only allows the project manager (or any super user) of a project to edit the details of that project.
Force Timer Use Global When enabled this setting forces users to make use of the task timer. Users cannot enter raw time for new times nor can they modify times for existing time items.
Show Project Stage Column on Timesheet Global When enabled this setting will show the Project Stage of a time on the timesheet page. Note that you cannot show this column when the non billable time column is also shown.
Disable Invoicing Global When enabled this setting disables the Invoicing button on the main toolbar.
Disable Backup Warning Global When enabled this setting disables the 'Backup your Database' warning that is show when your database has not been backed up for 7 days.
Use Punch Clock Interface Global Enable this setting to force all users to use the punch clock interface.
