Customizing Timesheets MTS - Standard Cost Items

As a consulting firm it can be useful to be able to define a list of standard fees and services. It may even be useful to be able to define a set of standard items that you may sell along with a job (such as reselling hardward if you are an IT consultant). Timesheets MTS allows you define standard cost items and maintain and monitor your selling prices and profit margins in a flexible and easy to use manner.

Adding a New Standard Cost Item

To add a new standard cost item click the button and enter the details on the standard cost item screen.

Editing a Standard Cost Item

To edit an existing standard cost item either double click on the standard cost item in the list or click on the standard cost item in the list and then click the button. Edit the details on the standard cost item screen.

Deleting a Standard Cost Item

To delete a standard cost item select the standard cost item from the list and click the button.

The Standard Cost Item screen is shown when adding a new standard cost item or editing an existing one. Please find an explanation of the fields on this screen below:

Description
Item Code A unique item code to be displayed on Timesheets MTS invoices.
Description A description of the standard cost item
Unit of Measure The unit of measure of the item (eg each, foot, pound, liter etc).
Cost Price Your cost price for the standard cost item.
Selling Price Your selling price for the standard cost item.
Tax Applies Enable this option to have tax calculations apply to this standard cost item.
Item Type Choose whether this item is a good (such as inventory item or some other physical thing) or a service. This determines which tax rate is used for the item when it is invoiced.
